A star festival in Kizugawa will be hold along a street in front of JR Kizu Station and Kizugawa City Office from 6:30pm - 10:00pm on July 7.

- Gion Matsuri (July 1st - 29th, the highlights: July 14th - 17th)
It's one of the three biggest festival in Japan and said "mobile art museum".

As well as Kasuga Taisha Shrine, 2,000 lanterns will be lit around Daibutsuden (=Great Buddha Hall) from 19:00 to 22:00 on August 15th. Also, A small door upper portion of the hall is opened only two nights a year, on August 15 and December 31, and you can see Great Buddha's face from outside the hall.
